Four things go wrong, usually at once.

What to expect
How long acne treatment actually takes.
This is a slower concern than most people expect, because you are waiting on a skin cycle rather than on a treatment.

- Four to six Aerolase sessions, spaced two weeks apart, is the standard course. Maintenance afterwards is usually every eight to twelve weeks.
- When it turns
- Expect the first honest read at six weeks, not two. A full skin cycle is around 28 days and any routine change needs two of them before the verdict means anything.

Common questions
What people ask about acne.
Should I see a dermatologist instead?
For severe cystic or nodular acne, or anything leaving scars as it heals, yes — that wants a prescribing dermatologist and possibly isotretinoin, and we will refer rather than delay you. What we handle well is persistent inflammatory and congestive acne that has not responded to over-the-counter routines. The two are not in competition, and plenty of people do a course with a dermatologist and then come here for the scarring.
Why do I have acne in my thirties and forties?
Adult acne is usually hormonal rather than a hygiene or diet issue. Fluctuating androgens raise oil production, and adult skin is also thinner and slower to shed, so pores block more readily. It typically lands along the jaw, chin and neck, and it responds to a different plan than the one that worked in your teens.
Does laser acne treatment hurt?
