Boldly Her: The Illumatox Brand Story

You do not need permission to be fully yourself.

A declaration that women and girls no longer need permission to be confident, strong or entirely themselves. It is a reminder that who you are, right now, is worthy, powerful and enough.

Where it comes from

Three places at once.

For Elizabeth Coenen, Boldly Her is not a marketing line applied to a business. It describes three parts of one life, and the studio is only the most visible of them.

  1. 01

    In faith

Rooted first in what she believes.

Being bold in her love for Jesus means living with intention, leading with compassion, and trusting God's calling even when the journey requires courage. Faith is the foundation that shapes her values, her leadership and her purpose.

  2. 02

    In business

    Built from nothing, on conviction.

Illumatox Aesthetic Studio was built from the ground up through vision, resilience and belief. Being bold in business means taking risks, creating something meaningful, and building a space where women feel confident, empowered and supported, not just in how they look, but in how they feel.

  3. 03

    In motherhood

Raising a daughter who will not shrink.

Teaching her to be confident, kind, strong and unafraid to stand in His truth. It is about showing her that her voice matters, and that she never has to make herself smaller in order to belong.

And beyond one woman

It was never meant to stay hers.

Boldly Her started as a personal conviction and became the platform the studio is built on: freedom from comparison, freedom from judgement, and the room to show up as you actually are.

That is the reason the treatment philosophy reads the way it does. Work that looks like work makes a person into a project. Work that restores what was there gives someone their own face back, which is a very different proposition.

It is also why we will tell you when the answer is to do nothing. Not every visit needs to end in a treatment for the visit to have been worth making.

The candle

Clothed with strength and dignity.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”Proverbs 31:25

The verse the candle is named for, and the one that reflects the confidence, faith and resilience women carry within them.

Boldly Her is a grounded fragrance inspired by faith and nostalgia, chosen by Elizabeth for what it evokes: the textured leather of her Bible, and the essence of an equine tack room.

Notes of leather, saffron, amber and incense create a warm, lasting presence: quietly powerful and deliberately unfeminine in the way most candles are not.

Available in the studio. Ask at your next appointment, or call (920) 585-8115.

Boldly Her is the first of the candle line, which now runs to several numbered editions.

Common questions

Boldly Her: what people ask.

What is Boldly Her?

It is the idea the studio was built around: that aesthetic treatment should return you to looking like yourself rather than like a version of someone else. In practice it shows up as a bias toward less product, more assessment, and saying no to things that would read as work.

Does that mean you only do subtle treatments?

No. It means the result should look intentional rather than obvious, and how far that goes is your decision. If you want something more pronounced than we would suggest, say so at the consultation. We will tell you where we think it starts to look done, and then it is your face and your call.

Is this just marketing language?

Fair question, and the test is whether the pages behave like it. Every treatment page on this site says where that treatment stops working and who it is wrong for, several recommend spending less, and some send you elsewhere. That is the version of it you can check.

Who is Illumatox actually for?

Mostly women in the Fox Valley who want to look like themselves on a good day and have been put off by places that would have sold them more. It is not exclusively that (plenty of men come in for tox, hair restoration and laser), but that is who the studio was built for.

Do I need to know what I want before I come?

No, and most people do not. Arriving with a problem rather than a treatment is genuinely easier to work with, because it leaves the assessment free to find the actual cause rather than confirming a guess you made online.

Will I be judged for what I ask about?

No. People ask about things they have been embarrassed about for years, and the only wrong version of that conversation is the one that does not happen. If it turns out not to be something we should treat, you will be told kindly and told why.

Come as you are.

The consultation is $50, credited back against treatment, and there is no obligation attached to any of it.
